The true meaning behind piano lessons

A beautiful smile from a piano student. That's all it takes to melt my heart and help me remember exactly why I do what I do. That smile on their face once they finish off a song, that proud look, the happiness radiating off their faces. It makes it ALL worthwhile. It makes it ALL about joy, about passion, about the LOVE of music. Sometimes it's little tweaks in the lessons  - adding a drum beat in the background, playing the duet part with the student, playing a fun game with them, the list goes on. Anything to make them feel accomplished and happy with themselves. That's my goal with piano lessons - it's so much over the lesson. It's about love, fulfilment, passion, confidence and happiness. As I believe, music is the greatest healer.
